Gulf Spill Being Mismanaged By Committee
By Carole on Jun 13, 2010
While the people of the Gulf coast along with the rest of the nation watch the federal government's painfully fractured response to the BP oil spill, President Barack Obama continues to act as if he is being criticized for not personally diving into the slick waters and plugging the hole. In fact, the criticism is that he personally has demonstrated zero leadership, horrendous communication abilities and allowed the crisis to be mismanaged by committee.
Will The "Sestak Issue" Be Resolved Today?
By Carole on May 28, 2010
During yesterday's press conference, President Barack Obama was asked about allegations that someone in the White House offered US Representative Joe Sestak (D-Pennsylvania) a job if he would bow out of a Democratic primary race against Senator Arlen Specter (D-Pennsylvania), His response was that there will be an official response "shortly". So we now have the answer to the question 'How long does it take to tell the truth?' It's ninety-eight days and a "shortly".
White House Backs Off On Some Propaganda To Students
By Carole on Sep 4, 2009
The Obama administration has made changes to the recommended activities for students following the president's September 8 speech to the nation's public schools. Specifically suggestions that students write about what they can do to help the president and discuss what "the president wants us to do" have been changed to center more on the children and their own goals rather than on Barack Obama and his. White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said the changes are intended to make the lesson plans clearer. (source) This has nothing to do with clarity.
White House E-Mail Excuse Seems Awfully Fishy
By Carole on Aug 18, 2009
The White House has now acknowledged that people across the country received unsolicited e-mails from the administration last week about health care reform. Those unsolicited e-mails have been adding fuel to the fire started when the administration asked citizens to forward "fishy" e-mails they received that were critical of the president's health care reform legislation. Many people felt those forwarded e-mails were becoming the foundation for some kind of enemies list - a list of e-mail addresses of administration opponents who could be illegally targeted with political propaganda (or worse) by the White House.
It's Tough To See Through All This Clarity
By Carole on Aug 17, 2009
First Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius makes the rounds of the Sunday morning talk shows claiming that a government run health insurance option "is not an essential part" of reform. Then an administration official (who asked not to be identified in exchange for providing clarity) said that Secretary Sebelius "misspoke", that the White House did not intend to change its messaging and that the public option is not, in the president's view, the most important element of the reform package. (source) You've got to love this administration's idea of clarity.
