The Terrorists Can’t Have Today

It's impossible to forget that this is the anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks. As I'm sure most Americans do, I remember that horrible day many times throughout the year; when I hear something related on the news or sometimes when the morning sky is crystal clear and bright the way it was that morning. But while the date is impossible to forget, we have a choice about how we spend today and all the September 11's still to come.

The man who believes that admitted terrorists who have killed thousands should be tried in civilian court, that the US federal government should sue individual states for protecting themselves when that federal government will not and that his own country is a "nation of cowards" with regard to race has been sent to Afghanistan to foster the development of that country's justice system. No Civilian Trials For 9/11 Terrorists?

White House advisers are reportedly ready to recommend a major policy reversal regarding the trial of admitted 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed and four of his accomplices. Instead of following Attorney General Eric Holder's plan to try the terrorists in a New York City civilian court, advisers are nearing a recommendation for President Barack Obama to choose a military trial. How do you fast track your chances to work for the Department of Justice? Defend terrorists. After months of stalling, Attorney General Eric Holder has finally (sort of) admitted that at least nine of President Obama's appointees have either represented or advocated for Guantanamo detainees But Mr. Holder is still refusing to name any of the now DOJ lawyers who worked on behalf of terrorists except for two who were already known.
