While President Obama is facing bipartisan accusations of exceeding his authority by engaging the US military in Libya, one wonders which side of this fight Senator Obama would have joined. At issue is the War Powers Resolution which prohibits the military from being involved in actions for more than 90 days without Congressional authorization. The campaign in Libya has gone on for nearly 3 months.
Graham Claims Tea Party Is Unsustainable

In a recent interview, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) declared that the Tea Party movement is unsustainable and will eventually "die out." What the senator fails to realize (or at least won't admit publicly) is that successful grassroots efforts such as the Tea Party movement end when their goal has been achieved and it is the political careers of so-called moderate Republicans such as Senator Graham that are unsustainable.
Is Kerry Reporting For A Fool's Mission?

Senator John Kerry (D-Massachusetts) is reporting for duty again and again it is a task for which he is woefully unqualified. The former presidential candidate has suggested becoming the first high-level US emissary to make a public visit to Tehran, Iran since that country's 1979 Islamic revolution. (source) While the Obama administration seems to be in favor of such a trip, the people of Iran who are risking their lives to protest the regime Senator Kerry wants to meet with have a very different opinion.
Senator Paula Hawkins 1927-2009

The first woman who was not the wife or daughter of a politician to win a full Senate term died yesterday at the age of 82. A staunch conservative, Senator Paula Hawkins was called the "housewife from Maitland" and in addition to demolishing the gender barrier in the US Senate, her legacy includes defending children, fighting drugs and championing stay-at-home mothers.
