The long election night covering a race that was going to be too close to call never came. Less than an hour after the polls closed in Wisconsin, it was obvious that Democrats' attempt to recall Republican Governor Scott Walker had failed and not by the predicted razor thin margin but by nearly 10 points. This decisive victory of conservative economic reform over unaffordable government spending sends a strong message across the nation. But will that message be heard by all?

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has framed the June 5 Wisconsin recall election as a "dry run" for November's presidential contest. With Republican Governor Scott Walker ahead in every major poll, that doesn't bode well for President Obama's chances for re-election.
