Businessman Herman Cain has officially suspended his presidential campaign citing "false and unproved allegations" and "distractions and hurt" to himself and his family. He is moving on to what he calls Plan B - pushing his solutions to the nation's problems from outside the electoral process. According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, former businessman and GOP presidential contender Herman Cain's favorability rating among Republicans has dropped by 9 points (from 66% to 57%) over the last week. Favorability is especially important to a candidate like Mr. Cain; a political novice who has never held any political office. With no record of accomplishments in government, his strong suit has been a perceived ability to get things done; to provide steady leadership through tough challenges. But, as this new poll shows, approximately 35 percent of Republicans surveyed believe the recent controversy has damaged that perception.

Right below the latest news on reality TV show Project Runway, a website that claims to contain "gossip from Manhattan and the Beltway to Hollywood and the Valley" is claiming there's a scandal in the past of newly minted Republican Senator from Massachusetts Scott Brown. Gawker.com has dug up a civil defamation suit against then State Representative Brown alleging he harassed a woman named Jennifer Firth when she worked on his campaign in 1998. (source)
