Obama's Bounce Goes Bust

President Barack Obama's anticipated approval rating bounce after passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) has gone bust. Already disappointing for the Obama machine was the smaller than expected size of the bounce, but even that has been washed away during the days since the bill was signed.

While our president was yukking it up on Letterman, Iran's president said Monday that he is proud of his recent statements questioning whether the Holocaust was "a real event" and calling it a pretext used by Jews to trick the West into backing the creation of Israel. (source) Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be speaking Wednesday to the U.N. General Assembly and in less than two weeks Iran will enter key negotiations with the United States and others seeking concessions on Iran's nuclear program. Meanwhile President Obama accepted a heart shaped potato from an audience member at a Late Show taping.
Obama Gets Schooled

Each time President Obama travels out of the country I wonder how, not when, he will weaken our country's standing in the world. So far his current trip has included agreeing to agree with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on some new nuclear arms treaty at some future date while not receiving any hint of cooperation by Russia regarding Iran's nuclear aspirations.
U.S. Credit Rating Concerns

Last Thursday, bond fund manager Bill Gross warned that the U.S. may lose its AAA credit rating. The same day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost nearly 130 points. (source) The following day, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs reassured the press that the White House isn't too concerned about the U.S. losing its perfect credit rating. (source)
