This Debt Crisis Must Be Wasted

It's been the rallying cry of the Obama administration since the beginning, but former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's 'You never want a serious crisis to go to waste' has morphed into 'Create a crisis then use it as a weapon against those you were elected to serve'. In his weekly radio address, President Barack Obama actually tried to use the unemployment crisis created by his job-killing policies to push the country toward higher debt, higher taxes and more out of control government spending.

Instead they got to speculate on who will be President Barack Obama's next Chief of Staff if Rahm Emanuel decides to run for mayor of Chicago now that current Mayor Richard Daley has decided not to seek a seventh term.

President Barack Obama's chief of staff Rahm Emanuel has added to the criticism of BP chief executive Tony Hayward's decision to attend a yacht race this weekend while the oil crisis in the Gulf goes on. But if, as Mr. Emanuel says, Mr. Hayward has committed yet another in a "long line of PR gaffes" by attending that race, can't the same be true of President Obama's recent golf outings, parties and attendance of a Washington Nationals baseball game as the oil continues to flow?
