What happens when you're the Democrat who cast the deciding 60th vote to push Obamacare through the Senate on Christmas Eve? Not surprisingly, only 36% of voters support you while any potential Republican challenger wins the support of over 50%. Former Tennessee Congressman Harold Ford announced Monday evening that he will not challenge incumbent Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York) in the upcoming Democratic primary. Just six weeks ago, the former Tennessee Congressman was putting together his campaign team and warning top Democrats that he couldn't be bullied. Evidently he could be.

There's no doubt that Republican voters are much more motivated this year than Democrats and the turnout at Tuesday's Illinois primaries is the latest proof of that. Latest tallies show 885,268 Democrats voted in their primary compared to 736,137 Republicans. That's surprising since, even though voters do not register by party in Illinois, estimates from both sides say Democrats far outnumber Republicans.
