Someone Had To Say It

As we await the result of the meeting between President Barack Obama and General Stanley McChrystal over the latter's comments about the former in a recent magazine article, the phrase "someone had to say it" comes to mind as it has many times in the past week. With virtually every issue facing the nation, the president's leadership and decision making abilities have been coming up short and, like the child who stated the obvious in the classic fable, someone had to say that the Emperor has no clothes.
Obama Is Kicking The Gulf Coast's Ass

President Barack Obama's most recent piece of performance art has him saying his meetings on the oil spill crisis are to figure out "whose ass to kick." According to Louisiana's LaFource Parish President Charlotte Randolph, he's already started kicking and the target is not the hindquarters of any oil company exec, contractor or corrupt government official - it's the people he's supposed to be helping.
Obama Drilling Ban Just Another Political Move

In keeping with their "never let a crisis go to waste" policy, the Obama administration has used the BP oil spill as the rationale for blocking all new offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. And in keeping with the administration's record of wreaking economic havoc and killing jobs with every new policy, the ban could cost the state of Louisiana up to 6,000 jobs this month, 10,000 jobs over the next few months and up to 20,000 existing and new jobs by next year.
