Incentivizing Occupation
By Carole on Nov 24, 2011
First Occupy Los Angeles was negotiating with its "host" city for 10,000 square feet of free office space, free farmland and free housing in exchange for abandoning its City Hall encampment. Now San Francisco is negotiating with its occupiers to move from the heart of the city's financial district to a currently empty school in the Mission district. Growing desperation on the part of liberal politicians to defuse a situation they originally supported is leading to yet another stupid decision on their part - incentivizing these small groups of people to disrupt the lives and endanger the safety of others.
Could 2012 Be A Three Or Even Four Way Contest?
By Carole on Oct 5, 2011
With recent polls showing President Barack Obama's approval rating continuing to plummet and the vast majority of Republicans still undecided about the current GOP field of contenders, could next year's presidential campaign turn into a three- or even four-way race? While many liberals have become increasingly frustrated with Mr. Obama's string of broken promises, many conservatives are worried that the GOP will settle for someone too moderate leaving room on both ends of the ideological spectrum for another candidate (or two). There's also the possibility that a seemingly apolitical contender could be the choice of many voters who have all but given up on the current system.
Are The Millennials Turning Right?
By Carole on Sep 3, 2010
Call it buyer's remorse or just growing up fast in the economically painful Age of Obama. Fewer young voters are identifying themselves now as Democrats than just 2 years ago. While college students and young Americans new to the work force played a large part in the election of President Barack Obama, their attachment to the Democratic Party has weakened considerably since he took office.
Obama Can't Change America's View
By Carole on Jul 26, 2010
This week President Barack Obama will make an appearance on the ABC daytime talk show The View. White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said of the upcoming presidential performance, "Given the difficulty of reaching people in this hyperactive media environment, we look for opportunities to reach people in environments that are not traditional forums for political newsmakers. That's why we have been willing to have the president on Leno, Letterman and ESPN." (source) In other words, it's easier for Mr. Obama to keep pushing his failed policies and unaffordable ideas to people who get their "news" from Hollywood celebrities.
The Difference Between Liberals And Conservatives
By Carole on Aug 19, 2009
According to a recent Gallup Poll, conservatives now outnumber liberals in all 50 states. 40% percent of respondents in Gallup surveys that have interviewed more than 160,000 Americans have said that they are either "conservative" (31%) or "very conservative" (9%). Only 21% have told Gallup they are liberal, including 16% who say they are "liberal" and 5% who say they are "very liberal." (source) It's important to note this is not about party politics - according to the same survey Democrats have a significant advantage over Republicans in party identification in 30 states - it is the liberal wing of the Democratic Party that has lost touch with the American people.
