Suddenly Biden Thinks Compromise Is Possible

It's easy to say you'll compromise when there's no chance you'll actually have to do it. Case in point: In an interview on Bloomberg's Political Capital program set to air this weekend, Vice President Joe Biden said Democrats may be willing to extend some of the Bush tax cuts to those making more than the Obama administration's constantly stated $250,000 threshold. Easy to say since the Democrats who control Congress fled the capitol before dealing with the issue and won't return to work until after the November 2 elections.
Can Lame Duck Season Be Cancelled?

Is no Congress at all better than the one we'll have between Election Day and the swearing in of the winners? According to a resolution offered today by Republican Study Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-Georgia), the answer is most definitely yes. The resolution calls on Congress not to hold a so-called lame duck session to pass unpopular legislation such as card check, cap & trade, tax increases and more deficit spending bills.
