Lieberman's Using Gulf Crisis To Push Cap & Trade
By Carole on Jun 20, 2010
President Obama's attempt to use the oil spill in the Gulf to push for cap & trade legislation doesn't seem to be working. According to one sponsor of the energy, bill the inclusion of the job killing, energy cost raising scheme is keeping the legislation far below the 60 vote threshold needed for it to pass in the Senate. Even as the latest poll tells us that 48% of Americans believe that the seriousness of global warming is generally exaggerated (up from 41% just last year), President Obama and a small band of US Senators are still trying to push expensive job killing climate change legislation that puts a first-ever price on carbon emissions.
Showdown At The Obamacare Corral
By Carole on Dec 15, 2009
The next (and possibly final) showdown on Obamacare will not be between Republicans and Democrats. President Obama has summoned the Senators from his own party to the White House for a Tuesday meeting that could be the last chance he has to bribe, blackmail and/or bully fellow Democrats into passing some version of health care reform this year.
