Cain's Outsider Appeal Is Not Enough
By Carole on Nov 16, 2011
During a presidential primary fight one contender highlighted the inexperience of another by saying, "The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training." Of course that was Vice President Joe Biden speaking about his current boss President Barack Obama. Over the past 3 years the nation has learned just how right Mr. Biden was, yet now the Republican Party is flirting with making the same sort of mistake.
The Truth's Out: Obama's Got Nothing
By Carole on Aug 21, 2011
Vice President Joe Biden is certainly not known as a wise old sage. But there was that one rare moment in 2008 when both he and then-Senator Barack Obama were vying for the Democrats' presidential nomination. Referring to Mr. Obama's lack of qualifications for the job to which they both aspired, Mr. Biden said, "The presidency doesn't lend itself to on the job training." He was right then and he's been proven right again this weekend. A senior administration official has admitted that the jobs plan President Obama promised to deliver after Labor Day is still a work in progress and top aides are still "crunching numbers" and "weighing options."
Biden Postpones Stimulus Oversight Meeting
By Carole on Nov 8, 2010
We now have the first sign that the new Republican majority in the House of Representatives will be holding the Obama administration accountable for it's over the top spending and hard to believe statistics. We also have the first sign of how the administration will react. Incoming Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-California) scheduled a meeting for today with Vice President Joe Biden, who oversees the administration's stimulus effort, to discuss accountability with regard to the $800+ billion stimulus bill and Mr. Biden has now postponed that meeting.
Suddenly Biden Thinks Compromise Is Possible
By Carole on Oct 24, 2010
It's easy to say you'll compromise when there's no chance you'll actually have to do it. Case in point: In an interview on Bloomberg's Political Capital program set to air this weekend, Vice President Joe Biden said Democrats may be willing to extend some of the Bush tax cuts to those making more than the Obama administration's constantly stated $250,000 threshold. Easy to say since the Democrats who control Congress fled the capitol before dealing with the issue and won't return to work until after the November 2 elections.
Dems Down To Attacking Candidates' Pets
By Carole on Oct 8, 2010
As Election Day and the end of many Democrats' political careers get closer, what passes for their party leadership is getting more desperate with each passing poll. The US Senate race in Washington State, which was supposed to be an easy win for incumbent Senator Patty Murray (D-Washington), is starting to tilt toward Republican Dino Rossi and all Vice President Joe Biden had to offer at a Tacoma rally today was the usual anti-business rhetoric and a negative reference to Mr. Rossi's dog.
