Could A Brokered Convention Become A Tea Party?
By Carole on Jan 24, 2012
Appearing on FNC's Happening Now this morning, former House Majority Leader and Chairman of FreedomWorks Dick Armey was asked to comment on reports that the Tea Party Movement has not been involved in the GOP primary process and may in fact be dead. As an influential voice in the movement, Mr. Armey explained that tea party activists have been working on reinforcing the conservative majority in the House and capturing a conservative majority in the Senate while the media has been focused only on presidential politics. But he also said the grassroots movement could have a very real role in choosing the eventual presidential nominee once the primary process is complete.
Obama And Perry Priorities On Display
By Carole on Sep 6, 2011
Texas Governor Rick Perry provided a glimpse of the kind of president he might be when he skipped the chance to participate in a nationally televised political forum to do his job. Mr. Perry was slated to appear with other GOP presidential contenders at Senator Jim DeMint's (R-South Carolina) Palmetto Freedom Forum on Labor Day, but instead he rushed back to work as a roaring wildfire raced across Central Texas.
Obama's Not Getting The Message
By Carole on Sep 5, 2011
President Barack Obama made a speech today that was a preview of a speech he'll make on Thursday that, from all indications, will be a repeat of the same speech he's made many times before. Everyone who has paid even the slightest bit of attention has already heard his message for more government spending, more government borrowing and more government regulations. Obviously he is the one not getting the message that more speeches calling for more government is not what's needed and Thursday night may provide the next best opportunity to send it.
Time For Real Fiscal Leadership
By Carole on Aug 6, 2011
After yesterday's downgrade of the US government's credit rating by Standard & Poor's, an immediate and already tedious blame game has begun over who caused what and when. There's no surprise that Democrats are blaming Republicans and Republicans are blaming Democrats. The White House is even blaming Standard & Poor's. But regardless of where the fingers are pointing on the cause of the problem, the country needs strong leadership to find the solution and, like it or not, for the next 17 months that responsibility lies with President Barack Obama.
President Alvin Greene?
By Carole on Nov 9, 2010
After winning the Democratic Party's senatorial nomination in South Carolina with little to no effort, Alvin Greene is now considering a 2012 run for the White House. Mr. Greene, who lost his Senate race to incumbent Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), did manage to garner a primary win, lots of national attention and 28% of the general election votes with nothing more than a "D" after his name so it's not impossible to believe that the donkeys could support him again.
