Candidates Should Learn From Daniels
By Carole on Jan 25, 2012
As Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich continue to throw millions of dollars and hundreds of sarcastic barbs at each other, their constant attempts to prove they are the best at gotcha politics is wearing thin. Of course every primary process includes some of what is politely called "contrasting" (in reality it is highlighting the negative aspects of an opponents record), but getting lost in all the mud slinging and chest thumping is the most important issue in the country today.
Obama's Ridiculously Small Idea
By Carole on Jan 13, 2012
This morning President Barack Obama stood before the cameras in an election-year attempt to claim he wants to shrink the size of the federal government and lower spending. According to the administration, his new proposal to merge six trade and commerce agencies would save $3 billion over the next 10 years and eliminate 1,000 to 2,000 jobs. Great headline unless you consider that since taking office, Mr. Obama has increased the federal workforce (excluding Census and Postal workers) by 7%; adding more than 144,000 to the federal payroll.
Video Casts Santorum As An Unelectable Big Spender
By Carole on Jan 2, 2012
With just over 24 hours before the Iowa caucuses, Texas Governor Rick Perry's campaign has produced a blistering web video highlighting former Senator Rick Santorum's passion for pork and his history as a big government big spender. The 60 second spot also draws the comparison between Mr. Santorum and 2008's Candidate Barack Obama - both in favor of wasteful spending and neither with any executive experience - the ad describes them as too close for comfort.
Obama's Not Getting The Message
By Carole on Sep 5, 2011
President Barack Obama made a speech today that was a preview of a speech he'll make on Thursday that, from all indications, will be a repeat of the same speech he's made many times before. Everyone who has paid even the slightest bit of attention has already heard his message for more government spending, more government borrowing and more government regulations. Obviously he is the one not getting the message that more speeches calling for more government is not what's needed and Thursday night may provide the next best opportunity to send it.
Who's Really In Charge Now?
By Carole on Sep 2, 2011
Today President Barack Obama nixed his administration's plan to implement an environmental regulation that could have cost as much as $90 billion. Just days ago Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) sent a letter to the White House asking that the administration calculate and release the economic impact of all 219 of its planned new regulations. Coincidence or proof that after two and a half years, the president's unaffordable, unsustainable and ridiculously naive plans for government are going up in smoke and the grown-ups are calling the shots?
