The Resurgence Of Cap & Trade?
By Carole on Mar 11, 2010
Even as the latest poll tells us that 48% of Americans believe that the seriousness of global warming is generally exaggerated (up from 41% just last year), President Obama and a small band of US Senators are still trying to push expensive job killing climate change legislation that puts a first-ever price on carbon emissions.
A Pause For Political Poetry
By Carole on Mar 6, 2010
Here at TalkingSides.com we're taking a break from the rough and tumble world of American politics to remember one of the more genteel arts. So without further ado, we offer these snippets of lyrical verse:

Where Can I Buy a Nonrenewable Energy Certificate?
By Chris on Jun 3, 2009
The Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) provides us with little more than a false sense of righteousness in the current anti-Carbon political environment.
Renewable Energy Certificates make it relatively easy for anyone to "go green". The process is simple. A renewable energy company distributes power using any allowable renewable source, including wind, solar, geothermal and biomass. This certificate entitles the buyer to all of the "component attributes" of the clean energy purchased. The energy itself however, once on the grid, is considered no different than any other form of energy. Wealthy individuals, corporations, organizations and tax-sponsored government agencies are buying billions of these credits every year.
