Azadi! Azadi!

Tens of thousands of Iranian citizens continue to risk all by demanding freedom and fairness from their oppressive government. Even as that government used tear gas on the crowds and took away dozens to who knows where, the protesters held their ground chanting "azadi, azadi" (Persian for "freedom") during a speech by former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. Rafsanjani denounced the government crackdown on protests and called for the release of the hundreds detained. (source)

Four members of the Iranian soccer team have been banned for life from playing for their country. Ali Karimi, Mehdi Mahdavikia, Hosein Ka'abi and Vahid Hashemian committed the evidently un-pardonable sin of wearing green armbands during a recent game to show their support for the protesters in the streets of Tehran. Don't Let Them Rein In Our Freedom

America is being led into socialism in such a way that most of us won't even know where we're going until we're there. First came the bailouts. Had to do it to keep huge institutions and corporations from failing. Had to save jobs and keep the economy from crashing further. Even we regular folks without economics degrees could understand that and so we went along.
