O'Donnell Surging In Delaware Senate Race

Republican Christine O'Donnell has cut 9 points off her opponent's lead in the Delaware Senate race and may be within striking distance of Democrat Chris Coons. According to a new poll, Ms. O'Donnell, who was trailing by 19 points just two weeks ago, has erased nearly half of that margin and now trails by 10 points (51%-41%). And the distance between them may be even smaller since this poll was taken before the latest sexist attack against the Republican and the backlash that has resulted from it.

The electoral tidal wave heading for Democrats in November is growing more powerful by the day. The latest bad news for Team Obama/Reid/Pelosi comes from Gallup in the form of its weekly generic ballot. Among registered voters, Republicans lead Democrats by 10 points (51% - 41%); the largest margin in Gallup's history of tracking the midterm generic ballot for Congress. (source) But Election Day could end even worse than that for Democratic candidates.

According to a new Gallup poll, Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents are much more enthusiastic about voting in the upcoming mid-term elections than they have been in previous years while Democrats' enthusiasm has dwindled to a new low by comparison. But rather than trying to improve the product they're trying to sell, the Democratic Party has decided to respond the way they always do - throw money at the problem.
