The American president has voluntarily relinquished his leader status, at least on economic matters, by clinging to the liberal tax and spend, big government model that has failed or is failing in virtually every country that has tried it.

Rarely have so many anticipated so little from so few, but the media (and many news junkies) are treating this summit as some sort of political super bowl. The Senate's $1.1 Trillion Quarterback Sneak

As threatened, the Senate passed its $1.1 trillion spending bill today and gave billions of taxpayer dollars to unnecessary projects at a time when most Americans are still feeling the effects of the recession and the unemployment rate remains in double digits. Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) said it was "shameful" that so many of these earmarks were in the legislation. Most Americans, he said, were watching football and not the Senate debate, adding, "If they knew what we are about to pass..." (source)
Obama's Attempt To Bribe America's Seniors

Since cost of living adjustments are tied to inflation which is negative this year, the government announced today that there will be no adjustments for Social Security recipients next year. The 2009 increase of 5.8 percent was the largest since 1982 and was due mostly to a spike in energy costs. Those costs have dropped considerably this year but since by law Social Security payments cannot go down, they will merely remain at the current rate this year. (source)
Obama Keeps Talking But Won't Say Anything

A prime time address on Wednesday, a rally in the midwest Saturday and yet another 60 Minutes interview tonight; it seems as if President Obama is doing nothing but talking. Of course it's all about his health care reform legislation (and he's not saying anything new on that). One would think that's the only issue we're facing; the only problem that he needs to address. It's not.
