While this issue may be old news to political junkies who were paying attention when the story first broke in May, video in the new ad of Mr. Blumenthal claiming he served in Vietnam when the truth is he did not will most likely be seen for the first time by many Connecticut voters.

Considering Mr. Blumenthal's lead over Republican Linda McMahon has plummeted from a robust 30 points earlier this year to a much slimmer 7 point margin, can the Obama Curse make things any worse?

On January 7, the day after he entered the US Senate race, Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal (D) proudly stated, "I've never taken PAC money, and I have rejected all special interest money." Now that he has accepted almost half a million dollars from Political Action Committees and special interest groups, his Republican opponent Linda McMahon has released a new ad asking, "How can he fight special interests if they're paying for his campaign?"
