At a pro-growth tax policy conference today, former President George W. Bush offered some brief remarks on the changes to the US tax code made during his presidency. Those changes, widely known as the Bush tax cuts, were so important to the health of the US economy that President Barack Obama signed a two year extension of them in 2010.
Suddenly Biden Thinks Compromise Is Possible

It's easy to say you'll compromise when there's no chance you'll actually have to do it. Case in point: In an interview on Bloomberg's Political Capital program set to air this weekend, Vice President Joe Biden said Democrats may be willing to extend some of the Bush tax cuts to those making more than the Obama administration's constantly stated $250,000 threshold. Easy to say since the Democrats who control Congress fled the capitol before dealing with the issue and won't return to work until after the November 2 elections.
Obama's New Economic Plan Will Be More Of The Same

President Barack Obama will speak tomorrow on the August unemployment numbers (expected to be bad) and has scheduled two big speeches next week that will focus on the economy. In other words more false claims of recovery, more finger pointing, more threats of higher deficit spending and higher taxes and more empty promises.
