Contrary To Liberal Opinion Abstinence Education Works

Surprise (to some)! Abstinence education actually works. According to a new University of Pennsylvania study published in The Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, abstinence only education helps to prevent teen pregnancy even if it does not include a religious message. The study showed that 33 percent of sixth and seventh graders who took an abstinence-only course had sex within two years of the course compared to 52 percent who were taught only "safer sex" and 42 percent who were taught both abstinence and safer sex. U.S. Credit Rating Concerns

Last Thursday, bond fund manager Bill Gross warned that the U.S. may lose its AAA credit rating. The same day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost nearly 130 points. (source) The following day, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs reassured the press that the White House isn't too concerned about the U.S. losing its perfect credit rating. (source)
Despite Government Threats California Votes For Sanity

In yesterday's special election the voters of California rejected five of six propositions that were supposed to close the state's budget deficit but most likely would have only postponed the inevitable. Hard to believe but voters just did not want to pay more taxes to bail out years of their state government's irresponsible spending.
