Corzine to Deeds to Coakley
By Carole on Jan 16, 2010 | Comment »
Corzine to Deeds to Coakley. No they aren't the newest double play combination in the majors. They are three Democrats who desperately hoped President Barack Obama could save their failing campaigns by making a last minute joint appearance with them. Corzine and Deeds found out in November that Mr. Obama's political capital is non-transferable. Coakley is about to learn the same thing when the president travels to Massachusetts on Sunday.

Republican Chris Christie has called his last week of campaigning to defeat incumbent New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine (D) his 'Countdown to Change' tour. He also called his opponent's final week the 'Save me from Myself' tour as Corzine's final events feature President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden. (source) The Democrats seem to be throwing anything and anyone into the mix who might distract voters from the state the state has fallen into during Corzine's time in office.
With Friends Like These...

Earlier this month former President Jimmy Carter tried to blame President Obama's problems on his race saying, "I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African-American." Now former President Bill Clinton is "helping" President Obama by dragging out the old vast, right-wing conspiracy accusation. With friends like these, who needs vast conspiracies?
Democrats Consider Reconciliation To Pass Health Care Reform

In an op-ed piece in today's Wall Street Journal, would-be Health & Human Services Secretary (and tax cheat) Tom Dashle dragged out a recently deceased Kennedy, a little boy with cancer and a host of scare tactics in an effort to push for the passage of health care reform legislation. But even he knows he's selling something the American people don't want to buy. That's why he brought up the prospect of reconciliation - a nice sounding word that in this context means ramming hugely unpopular change down the throats of the American people.
Is The Other North Korean Shoe About To Drop?
By Carole on Aug 9, 2009 | Comment »
When former president Bill Clinton completed his "private mission" to North Korea to gain the release of two American journalists, many wondered what concessions were made to the communist regime in exchange for their freedom. Some suggested the fact that North Korean leader Kim Jong Il got a visit from and a photo opportunity with a former US president was enough of a quid pro quo but others have been waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe it has.
