President Obama once again insulted the intelligence of the American people today when he offered a few shiny beads instead of sound economic policy. In a preview of his upcoming State of the Union address, Mr. Obama proposed an expansion of tax credits and other initiatives supposedly designed to help the middle class. But these small ideas will likely add to the already record deficit and do nothing to promote job creation.

Republican Chris Christie has called his last week of campaigning to defeat incumbent New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine (D) his 'Countdown to Change' tour. He also called his opponent's final week the 'Save me from Myself' tour as Corzine's final events feature President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden. (source) The Democrats seem to be throwing anything and anyone into the mix who might distract voters from the state the state has fallen into during Corzine's time in office.

There is talk in the past 24 hours about the Obama honeymoon being over meaning that period of time when a new president's approval ratings soar. I don't think it was so much a honeymoon as a brainwashing. Using the traditional tools of a cult leader and his minions, the administration and the complicit mainstream media has conned, guilted and frightened a large segment of the American people into supporting an unqualified president and his reckless and ineffective policies.
