The buzz before last night's GOP presidential debate was that former Senator Rick Santorum could solidify his front runner status with a win and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney could be in big trouble if he lost. Well, Mr. Santorum didn't win and Mr. Romney didn't lose and that's about all the news that was made at debate #20.
A Glimpse Into A Second Obama Term

Shortly after noon today, President Barack Obama is expected to announce that religious employers will not have to cover birth control for their employees. His anticipated compromise solution may or may not quell the objections of those who considered the new requirement to be an attack on religious freedom. But regardless of the immediate concerns about this particular provision of the president's health care law, it is indisputable that any concession he might make is the result of a political backlash that threatened his chances at reelection. This begs the question once set free from concerns over his own job security, will this president ever reject a federal power grab in favor of religious freedom or any other of those pesky liberties afforded by the Constitution?

It's official. President Barack Obama has nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan to replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens on the Supreme Court. Most experts are anticipating a smooth confirmation process leaving just one big question: Will Ms. Kagan's decidedly negative comments about Supreme Court confirmation hearings have any affect on her own?

Rumors are circulating that the allegedly pro-life politician will not seek reelection, but his spokeswoman will neither confirm nor deny he has made that decision. (source)
The Obamacare Boat May Sink Yet

As Democratic leaders in the Senate push harder than ever to produce some kind of watered down health care bill, their legislative boat keeps springing more leaks and threatens to sink taking President Obama's signature issue down with it. After ditching the Medicare expansion idea to get Senator Joe Lieberman (I-Connecticut) on board, Harry Reid & Company still need to address at least one holdout in their own party and the American people's steadily dropping opinion of the whole idea.
