Is Chris Christie's Charisma Transferable?
By Carole on Dec 2, 2011
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been getting involved in the 2012 presidential contest even after deciding not to compete for the GOP nomination himself. Recently he blasted President Barack Obama for standing by while the congressional super committee failed to reach a deal on debt reduction. Mr. Christie's "What the hell are we paying you for?" aimed at Mr. Obama made headlines and prompted plenty of cheers from Republicans nation wide, but is the positive effect of his blunt, honest, get to the heart of the matter "Jersey style" transferable to the candidate he has endorsed?
Bye Bye Barney
By Carole on Nov 28, 2011
In January of 2010, then-Senators Christopher Dodd (D-Connecticut) and Byron Dorgan (D-North Dakota) announced they would not be seeking re-election that year. The New York Times reported on the sudden retirements saying they "signaled that President Obama is facing a perilous political environment that could hold major implications for this year's midterm elections and his own agenda." While many liberals have become increasingly frustrated with Mr. Obama's string of broken promises, many conservatives are worried that the GOP will settle for someone too moderate leaving room on both ends of the ideological spectrum for another candidate (or two). There's also the possibility that a seemingly apolitical contender could be the choice of many voters who have all but given up on the current system.
Christie Speech A Lesson For GOP Contenders
By Carole on Sep 27, 2011
Speaking at the Reagan Presidential Library tonight, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie delivered the kind of speech a Republican candidate for the presidency needs to deliver. He criticized President Barack Obama's job performance the way a perspective 2012 opponent should. When he summarized his own successful leadership tecniques it conjured up visions of that same kind of success from the next American president. And then he seemed to say that he's not running.
