Vice President Joe Biden gave another speech and therefore made another inappropriate comment. Appearing at a Minneapolis campaign event yesterday, Mr. Biden referred to Republican critics of Obama administration policies as "squealing pigs" and that's the sound byte that's getting all the media attention. Rude, crass and uncivil as it is; it's not the part of that speech journalists should be highlighting for voters.

Forget the in-the-mud rhetoric from the administration of a president who called for more civil political discourse, the real newsworthy line from his vice president yesterday was this:

"Folks, the middle class has started to come back."

After almost four years of back-breaking unemployment, staggering increases in the national debt and overwhelmingly growth in the size and scope of the federal government; Mr. Biden now has his own equivalent of President Barack Obama's "The private sector is doing fine" moment.

In response, presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney's spokesman said, "Vice President Biden's claim that the middle class is 'coming back' couldn't be more out of touch with the reality. Whether it's high unemployment, falling incomes, soaring tuition costs, or rising prices, middle-class families are struggling in the worst economic recovery America has ever had."

Meanwhile the mainstream media will continue to showcase the name-calling and other personal attacks by Team Obama in their never ending effort to sensationalize their coverage and distract voters from President Obama’s dismal record.
