A Short Pause For Political Poetry

As the national conversation over our debt reaches an almost screeching crescendo, we here at TalkingSides.com are taking a break to offer a brief respite from the chaos with these snippets of lyrical verse:
Congressional leaders are dealing
To raise the borrowing ceiling
The left wants more debt
The right says not yet
First get the economy healing.
Continued...
McConnell and Boehner are vying
To structure a plan that's worth buying
But it's all just more banter
Till Ryan and Cantor
And the freshman class say it's worth trying.
Old Nancy loved spending each cent
She could get whether taxed, earned or lent
She was once at the top
But she just couldn't stop
So now she is irrelevant.
And then there is old Harry Reid
Who hasn't quite got up to speed
He's still making threats
Of default on our debts
When the danger is government's greed.
And let's not forget the main reason
We're facing this crisis-filled season
Obama said spend
To make hard times end
So he's guilty of something called...incompetent and irresponsible governance.
