The Obama Vaccination

President Barack Obama sidestepped Congress on the war in Libya against the advice of his own legal team. He has announced a swifter troop withdrawal from Afghanistan than his own generals recommended. He continues to push for more government spending while all economic indicators show his spend-our-way-out-of-debt policies have failed miserably. There is little doubt that he is now making major decisions based on what he thinks is best for his own political future rather than for the good of the country, but his one-man-band approach shows more than the usual ambitious candidate, it shows a power-mad ruler desperately trying to hold onto (and increase) his power.

In frenzied attempts to curry favor with various voting blocks, the president who has been so overly cautious in the past that he was accused of dithering over important calls, is now making a flurry of hasty, potentially dangerous and possibly unconstitutional decisions. He didn't keep his promise to improve the United State's reputation in the world? Engage the US in the Libyan conflict once it has been given the Arab League seal of approval even if you have to ignore your own legal advisors and the War Powers Act to do it. (source)
He didn't keep his promise to bring the troops home? He's doing it now even though his own top military advisers believe his withdrawal plan incurs more risk than they recommended. (source)
He didn't keep his promise that the $800+ billion dollar stimulus bill would keep the national unemployment below 8 percent? Today he announced the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership; his latest brainchild that he claims will spur new jobs. Cost for this latest scheme: half a billion taxpayer dollars. (source)
When it comes to getting inoculated, the guy holding the needle always says, "I promise this won't hurt." Don't believe him.
