Twas Two Days Before Midterms

Twas two days before midterms and all through the nation
Everyone waited in anticipation
The voting machines were all lined up in rows
In hopes they'd record what folks actually chose
The voters were trying to study the facts
While last minute tv ads blared new attacks
Continued...
Barack and Michelle just back from campaigning
Had just done a little Halloween entertaining
When from the South Lawn there arose such a clatter
They ran to the door to see what was the matter
And what to their wondering eyes should appear
But a convoy of vans filled with congressional gear
At the wheel of each one sat a beaten old Dem
Who supported Obama who couldn't save them
As they moved down the road, heads hanging in shame
He gave them a wave and called each by their name
"Bye Feingold! Bye Lincoln! Bye Boxer and Reid!
Bye Murray! Bye Bennett, I'll miss you indeed!
As they drove out of town he received one last text
From Harry it read, "I think that you're next."
