The Real Obama Temperament Exposed

After almost two years of calmly apologizing for American exceptionalism, quietly extending rights to those who have killed thousands of American citizens (and those who want to do the same) and steadily pressing a socialist agenda that defies both American majority opinion and American precedent; President Barack Obama is losing his cool.

Foreign attackers didn't phase him and dissent over domestic issues didn't seem to register with him. Not even the traditional opponent of a sitting president, the White House Press Corps, has been able to get under his skin. Granted he won't give them the opportunity, reducing their access to shouting out questions he refuses to answer as he strolls by like the emperor in his new clothes. But now, his obvious frustration in the face of his own incompetence has revealed that "No Drama Obama" is prone to immature outbursts when faced with difficult situations.
We've seen glimpses of Mr. Obama's "thin skin" in the face of criticism from news outlets who dare to do anything but champion his policies and ideas. His administration's war on "cable news" has morphed into his telling a group of recent graduates that "information becomes a distraction." (source) Of course it's a distraction when your goal is to talk everyone into following you blindly toward abject failure and misery.
Today we saw more than another glimpse. We got two long looks at a man in way over his head without the skills to work his way through the problems our country faces.
The Washington Post reports that to those tasked with keeping the president apprised of the ongoing oil spill disaster in the Gulf, President Obama's clenched jaw is becoming an increasingly familiar sight. During one of those sessions in the Oval Office the first week after the spill, a president who rarely vents his frustration cut his aides short, according to one who was there. "Plug the damn hole," Obama told them. (source) Such leadership in the face of calamity! Despite the president's helpful directive, the hole continues to spew in quantities now thought to be three to five times the 5,000 barrels a day originally estimated.
Not limiting his incompetence to matters of environmental importance, President Obama also showed his true temperament at a private meeting with Senate Republicans on Tuesday. At the session, his appeal for bipartisanship was met with an understandable accusation of "audacity" from Senator Bob Corker (R-Tennessee) given the administration's handling of the financial reform package and other legislation. "I told him I thought there was a degree of audacity in him even showing up today after what had happened with financial regulation," Senator Corker told reporters.
How did the president react? According to officials present at the meeting, he bristled and defended his negotiations over the bill. Said Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kansas) who was also there, "The more he talked, the more he got upset. He needs to take a valium before he comes in and talks to Republicans and just calm down, and don't take anything so seriously. If you disagree with someone, it doesn’t mean you're attacking their motives - and he takes it that way and tends then to lecture and then gets upset." (source)
Meanwhile, North and South Korea teeter on the brink of war, the European economy is on the verge of collapse and our State Department is failing miserably in attempts to win China's support on vital issues. Makes you wonder how dangerous the ramifications of President Obama's next hissy fit will be.
