President Barack Obama's approval rating has dropped to an all-time low of 44% according to the latest Quinnipiac Poll released this morning. In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Senator Scott Brown (R-Massachusetts) said he received a "heads-up" from Mr. Obama that immigration reform was coming down the pike and he should give it some serious thought. While Mr. Brown said he would keep an "open mind to read the bill,” he also said. “That doesn’t mean that I will vote for granting amnesty to anyone." (source)
In addition to immigration reform, the Obama machine is working as fast as they can on financial reform legislation which will be just another federal power grab; an energy bill that will include some version of cap & trade and of course filling the Supreme Court vacancy with undoubtedly a liberal activist jurist.
Rather than take at least a moment to listen to what the American people are saying about his policies and the way he is doing his job, President Obama seems determined to ram through every unpopular bill, spend or borrow every dollar and kill every job he can before the voters get the chance to stop him in November. The only question seems to be if House and Senate Democrats and a few so-called moderate Republicans will let him get away with it.
