This new step of government issued guidelines to limit climate change via citizens changing what they eat brings the issue to a whole new level. No longer will the effects of this type of government intrusion be felt only by businesses (and the people who rely on businesses for their employment). As guidelines often turn into regulations and regulations into law, it's highly possible that governments might well start stripping away the freedom of individuals to decide what type of foods they can eat.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the cult of climate change tries to push its followers to make changes within their own lives instead of sending them out to try and force others to change. They may find that while it's easy to manipulate indoctrinated college students into spending an afternoon protesting some faceless corporation or attending a speech by some self-important environmental prophet, it's tougher to get them to forgo the Big Macs they'll be munching on the way. And while it's easy to convince liberal elites to lecture their fellow citizens on how they must pay more of their hard earned money as a result of scams like Cap & Trade, it's tougher to get them to give up the lattes they sip while they're preaching.
