EPA's Endangerment Finding Endangers The Economy

Forget any agreement that could come out of Copenhagen, the Obama administration is trying to further destroy the US economy with an endangerment finding by the EPA. An announcement is expected by the Environmental Protection Agency on Monday that greenhouse gases are endangering people's health and must be regulated. (source) Such a finding could be used to force businesses to make costly changes without the need for any pesky laws to actually make their way through Congress.

Yet another attempted power grab by the executive branch, this finding "could result in a top-down command-and-control regime that will choke off growth by adding new mandates to virtually every major construction and renovation project," said US Chamber of Commerce President Thomas Donohue. In addition to the inevitable increase in consumer prices, measures taken as a result of this finding would be job killers at a time when President Obama claims to be concerned over the 10% unemployment rate. Evidently he's more concerned with his ability to appease other nations at the Copenhagen summit when he arrives with a shiny new finding and his ability to gain government control over more of the private sector at home.
