Obama's Iranian Engagement Fails

It was revealed in late September that Iran has a heavily guarded, underground uranium enrichment facility near the city of Qom Speaking at the United Nations on this revelation, President Barack Obama said "We have offered Iran a clear path toward greater international integration if it lives up to its obligations, and that offer stands. But the Iranian government must now demonstrate through deeds its peaceful intentions or be held accountable to international standards and international law." Not surprisingly those words did not have a chilling effect on Iran's nuclear ambitions and today the Iranian government approved a plan to build 10 new uranium enrichment facilities in defiance of UN demands it halt the program.
