Has Climategate Killed Cap & Trade?

The Obama administration's energy scam known as Cap & Trade is dead according to the top Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Oklahoma) told reporters on Thursday that "Ninety-five percent of the nails were in the coffin prior to this week. Now they are all in." If Senator Inhofe is correct, what finally killed the legislation that would have allowed the government to force industrial businesses to purchase carbon emission credits, the cost of which would be passed on to consumers causing a backbreaking increase in energy costs for every American? Something called Climategate - a scandal of epic proportions which is getting barely a mention by the liberal media.

Here's what happened: Over 3,000 documents from the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit (CRU) were posted on the Internet. Documents which CRU, the epicenter for many of the so-called researchers who have authored the United Nations' global warming reports and fueled the political movement to regulate carbon, did not want anyone outside their group to see.
Those documents, including e-mails between the researchers, show data being made to fit their theories, squelching scientists who disagreed, punishing academic journals that didn't toe the apocalyptic line, and hiding their work from public view. George Monbiot, a UK writer who has been among the fiercest warming alarmists said after reviewing the documents, "It's no use pretending that this isn't a major blow." (source)
Since manmade climate change was the unproven, un-scientific basis for the mass hysteria allowing a Cap & Trade bill to get as far as it has in the legislative process, this revelation should mark the end of the whole scam.
But then again, never underestimate the power of con artists like President Obama and his accomplices to re-convince the gullible masses that the sky is falling.
