Another Bad Day In Obama Land

It hasn't been a good day for Team Obama today. Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) just announced that he would back a GOP filibuster of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s health care reform bill. According to the Senator, "We're trying to do too much at once," Lieberman said. “To put this government-created insurance company on top of everything else is just asking for trouble for the taxpayers, for the premium payers and for the national debt. I don’t think we need it now." (source) In case there was any doubt, Senator Lieberman's statement guarantees that Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) will not have the votes he needs to get his health care reform bill passed.

Meanwhile in New Jersey, the results of Governor Jon Corzine's last desperate (and Obama Team approved) effort to try and beat his conservative challenger by calling his challenger a conservative are in: The latest polls show Republican Chris Christie with a late surge that's expanding his lead over both Governor Corzine and independent candidate Chris Daggett. (source)
With the Corzine campaign completely under the control of Team Obama and (not so coincidentally) failing, what is President Obama doing today? The campaigner in chief is avoiding his presidential duties yet again by appearing at a campaign stop in Norfolk stumping for the Democrats' gubernatorial candidate in that state Creigh Deeds. With one week before the election Mr. Deeds is trailing his Republican opponent Bob McDonnell by a whopping 17 points in the latest polls. (source) That's a landslide by any definition of the word.
With all this failure occurring on an almost daily basis, one wonders when or if this administration will abandon its gar left agenda and start listening to the American people.
