Obama And The Men In The White Coats

President Obama staged a ridiculous photo op yesterday, inviting 150 doctors to be displayed in the Rose Garden while he made the same old speech about health care reform. The doctors were specifically chosen because they agree with the president's position on the issue and they were asked to wear their white lab coats to the event. The helpful administration even handed out lab coats to those who ignored the directive and showed up in regular business attire. (source)

Mr. Obama offered nothing new in his accompanying speech and the event was nothing more than an obvious attempt to fool the American people into believing that all doctors agree with him. But the group that supplied many of the doctors for the event, Doctors for America, is a nonprofit organization that grew out of Doctors for Obama, which worked to help elect the president. Doctors for America is also working closely with Organizing for America, Mr. Obama's political organization and they back a government-run insurance option. (source)
If this organization is truly representative of the medical community and not simply a small group of partisans who just happen to be doctors, why didn't the president mention or even thank Doctors for America in his remarks?
Representative and Orthopedic Surgeon Tom Price (R-Georgia) claims to have spoken to thousands of his colleagues who oppose Obamacare. He responded to the staged Rose Garden event by saying, "Today, the president wants you to believe that the medical community supports his government takeover of health care. Don't be fooled." Good advice. But unfortunately half the country continues to be fooled by this administration.
