Obama Keeps Talking But Won't Say Anything

A prime time address on Wednesday, a rally in the midwest Saturday and yet another 60 Minutes interview tonight; it seems as if President Obama is doing nothing but talking. Of course it's all about his health care reform legislation (and he's not saying anything new on that). One would think that's the only issue we're facing; the only problem that he needs to address. It's not.
Continued...
We're still waiting, a week later, for Mr. Obama to address the resignation (and reasons for it) of his Green Jobs Czar Van Jones. Perhaps he thinks that if he ignores the issue we will stop wondering how someone who made inflammatory racist statements, launched profanity laced attacks on Republicans and signed a petition asking for congressional hearings into whether high-level government officers had allowed the 9/11 attacks to occur ended up with a White House position. Perhaps he also thinks we'll stop wondering what we don't know about his other czars. We won't.
We're also waiting for his public comments on the latest ACORN news. The Census Bureau has officially severed ties with the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (with which the president has had a long and extensive relationship) and current recipient of millions of federal dollars in grants. Also hidden-camera videos released last week showed workers in two separate ACORN housing offices helping a couple posing as a pimp and prostitute evade the IRS and apply for an illegal housing loan for a brothel. (source) But President Obama, who said on the campaign trail "Judge me by who I surround myself with." has not offered a word on this scandal.
He's also been silent on yesterday's protest march though some might say his running to Minneapolis to speak in front of a very friendly crowd was his way of reacting to mass criticism from many of the people he has sworn to serve. He doesn't seem to think the worsening situation in Afghanistan is worth any public mention even though members of his own party are losing faith in how he is handling the war. (source) And then there's the economy, the job market and the deficit which he doesn't seem to want to publicly discuss unless he's telling us it's all related to (and supposedly fixed by) his brand of health care reform.
Of course since most in the mainstream media have downplayed all of the issues (and the President's silence on them) we the people might fall for the falsehood that health care reform is the only important issue facing our nation. But we won't forget the others and will continue to listen to what Mr. Obama does and does not say.
